Everyone in town, even Colton, seems to know something particular about Jack’s last days, but no one in Mason’s Crossing can help her put all the pieces together.
On the morning she discovers secret notes in Jack’s appointment book, she finds something else to convince her she’s right. But the more she digs for the truth, the more destructive Colton’s behavior becomes, until Sally is left with one choice ask her father what really happened.
The problem Sally hasn’t spoken to him in fifteen years.

Really a 3.5 story in my opinion but I decided to err on the high side. This book was a little hard to follow in my opinion. Sally is the main female character. She didn't really invite me into her life. She told me a lot about her story but I found it difficult to become invested in her. I did enjoy the story. I wished that the story of Sally and Colton could have been more realistic. I'll recommend this book to family and friends with a small caveat.Product details

Mason Daughter edition by Cynthia J Stone Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was a good book that held my attention but I was always wanting a little more. It was like the story built up to this dramatic plot and then ended. Maybe the author was planning on a second book. When I was done with the book I felt like I needed something more.
The book also jumps from the present to the past. I wanted a little more background in the past. You just get little visions of the characters past.
Still a good book that I had a hard time putting down.
A great story of forgiveness and unconditional love, not told in a traditional format. I really liked the main characters. There are a lot of themes and layers in this book, forgiveness, unconditional love, suicide, father-daughter relationships, generational curses. I like that all the characters have several layers to them which keeps them intersting, even those that aren't quite so likeable.
I love the premise of this book. It is actually well-written and didn't make the editor in me cringe as do many of the free books on . I thought the characters were well-rounded and fleshed out, so much so that I just couldn't make myself like the main character. She admits in the beginning she was indifferent to her husband over the course of their marriage. She won't listen to her son when he asks her not to delve too deep into her husband's suicide. In fact, she cares more about solving that mystery than the pain and mental anguish her son is feeling. I do like that she was able to make a change in the end, and I was able to get past the fact I couldn't like the main character.
I was torn throughout this book about liking or not liking the story. I finished the book however, have mixed emotions on my feelings. At times while reading the book, I really like it, but then I would be frustrated that the major issue was communication throughout all the characters. I really can't express it anymore than that. There was a little romance in the story but most of the story related frustrated relationships between the main characters. It was an okay read for me but I quite honestly would not know who to recommend this book to.
I am just getting to the middle of the book but it grabbed me imediately because there is a mystery and because it's fun to read a story set in my corner of the world, Central Texas. The characters seem real and the author's descriptions of people, places and events contain just the right amount of detail for my taste--enough to be clear without details that are so abundant as to be distracting. I'm looking forward to finding out how the mystery ends!
A thorough examination of family relationships from a woman's perspective intertwined with a twisted plot. Daughters and fathers, mothers, sons, friendships, unconditional love and profound misunderstandings. These are elements that affect our perceptions of our families, our closest friends, suitors, mates, and perhaps most of all, ourselves. Ms Stone has nailed it pretty well and I see my wife, my own life, and my children with a perspective unappreciated before I read "Mason's Daughter". It's a very good book.

Sally lives her adult life hating her father because she can't forgive him for taking her mother away to a mental hospital. Now she is experiencing her sons hate when she tries to prove his fathers suicide was an accident. Sally is her own worse enemy. Those who love her try to get through to her but she can't or won't listen. I kept wanting to shake her, but was pulling for her at the same time. You will like the characters in this well written story.
Really a 3.5 story in my opinion but I decided to err on the high side. This book was a little hard to follow in my opinion. Sally is the main female character. She didn't really invite me into her life. She told me a lot about her story but I found it difficult to become invested in her. I did enjoy the story.
